Founded in 1933 by brothers Harry and Hyman Kaplan, Red-Kap Sales has grown into the premiere gasoline distributorship in northeastern New York. Combining their traditional business of wholesale gasoline sales with new retail diversifications of operating convenience stores and carwashes, Red-Kap’s total sales will exceed $150,000,000 for 2006. Frederick R. Kaplan, son of Hyman is now owner chairman. Day to day operations handled by President Anthony J. Famiano, Vice president Jonathan P. Kaplan and a professional staff of over forty employees.
Using its own fleet and common carriers Red-Kap delivers gasoline to over 70 satisfied customers throughout upstate New York. The chain of six convenience stores stretches from Kingston to Saratoga
and the three carwashes are in Schenectady, Loudonville and East Greenbush. Red-Kap is most proud of the loyalty and respect that is has earned from both its employees and customers.
